Employer branding campaign: how do you get started?
The number of job vacancies is increasing. This means your SME has to fight harder to stand out. But how do you set up an employer branding campaign? We’ll show you the way.

Do you have a separate careers page on your website? Great! But simply listing your job descriptions won’t cut it. After all, your website is aimed at your end customer. (If it isn’t, you should definitely drop by!) That makes sense, but it’s not suitable for your employer branding campaign.
An extra page where you speak directly to future applicants is therefore the absolute starting point. For example, tell them what it means to work for you. What your company stands for. Or briefly introduce the different departments.
A vacancy contains certain essential elements you can’t avoid. But try to be a little different anyway. Make the job description more concrete by describing a typical day on the job. Don’t use a stock photo with your vacancy, but a real image—of future colleagues, for example.
How far should you go in being different in your employer branding campaign? That varies for every SME. But make sure the vacancy is in line with the rest of your brand identity.
Is your SME active on social media? Good. But Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn are more than just channels for reposting your vacancies one-on-one.
How do you use social media effectively in your employer branding campaign? Share relevant content for future applicants every so often. Give them a look behind the scenes. Post a photo of that great team-building event. SHOW them what it’s like to work for you.
These are just a few tips to get you started. But employer branding isn’t something you start occasionally only to hit the brakes again. It’s an effort you have to maintain 365 days a year. And you can go much further than the examples above.
