Sadly, today one in four students sits in the classroom hungry. At Expliciet, we are fighting against empty lunchboxes… with speculoos!
Every afternoon Greta, our beloved housemother, puts a satisfied smile on our faces with a nutritious meal. Because at Expliciet, too, the way to the heart is through the stomach. And a well-filled stomach brings focus. Focus that allows us to create impact for our clients and each other.
Sadly, today one in four students sits in the classroom hungry. More than 43,000 children in Belgium eat insufficiently or unhealthily every day, regularly skipping at least one meal a day. Unfortunately, that means a lot of hungry children and young people who lack the necessary energy and focus to grow and discover.
Moreover, it is not easy to concentrate and learn on an empty stomach, and even playing and making friends becomes harder. Children deserve every opportunity. Including the chance to earn their diploma, as it can offer them a way out of poverty.
That is why at Expliciet, we are taking up the fight against empty lunchboxes! We are doing that with… speculoos!
