Expliciet is celebrating its birthday: 10 impressive cases in the spotlight
Day in, day out, we at Expliciet are working hard to bring the most diverse communication assignments to a successful conclusion. And we have been doing so for 10 years now. The perfect moment to look back on that journey. We are happy to do so by presenting ten cases. Ten key moments for Expliciet. Ten times receiving a client’s trust. Ten times gratitude for all the opportunities we have been given.
1. Het Ramenhuis – The kick-off (2012)
On a beautiful spring evening, we somewhat awkwardly joined the table at Tante Julia. Opposite us were two friendly gentlemen with ambition and drive. Paul & Stefan were ready to start their window and door company. And for this, they were looking for marketing support. A few bites and drinks later, the deal seemed sealed. We joined forces. The official starting signal for Expliciet was given. It’s great to see that ten years later, these two friendly gentlemen—with whom we still visit Tante Julia—are writing a successful entrepreneurial story with Het Ramenhuis, which has already opened its third branch today.

2. IMA – Machine construction? Huh?! (2013)
We stopped at a somewhat dated but large industrial building, where we were kindly escorted to the meeting room. Soon, two friendly gentlemen entered. “We need some creativity to present our story more effectively.” We diligently noted the briefing and asked the necessary questions. Because it was a pitch. And there were other agencies in the game. A few weeks later, we returned. We gave it our all and enthusiastically presented our concept. ‘You the product, we the machine’ was born. This baseline graced the walls at IMA for years. Meanwhile, in 2021, we jointly renamed IMA to VINTIV. Today, more than ever, we are contributing to the growth of this fantastic company.

3. Carfidence – From branding to networking (2014)
We headed down to the Dutch border, to Lanaken. At the time, it was still home to one of the Ford Beckers showrooms. Eric, the youngest of the three Beckers brothers, had a dream. He wanted to feel less dependent on Ford. “Second-hand cars is a growing segment. We need to put a company on the map where we can carry multiple brands,” he said. A few weeks later, Carfidence was launched. This case is special to us not only because of the strong branding that resulted from it, but especially for the role Eric played for us. He had sympathy for us as young entrepreneurs and proudly introduced us to his large network. For instance, he also arranged for us, as a young and small company, to become a member of VKW Limburg.
4. Veldeman – The first real pitch (2015)
As two enthusiastic young marketers, we got into the car and drove to distant Bree. We had received an invitation from Veldeman, a large company we knew from those beautiful large tents. We were invited by the entire management team. They grilled us about our way of working. On the other side of the table, we felt some doubt from some. Were two young guys from Hasselt really capable of giving Veldeman a new image? Seven years later, we are still grateful to Veldeman for the opportunity we were given. And we are still working hard together on the growth ambitions of this beautiful SME.

5. Van Havermaet – Welcome to the castle (2016)
“I’m going to give you a call sometime, because we are looking for a new marketing agency,” said the owner of Lotje. A female dog who was absolutely crazy about Mats, our office dog at the time. A few weeks later, the phone rang. It was Nathalie from Van Havermaet. “We would like to meet you.” Full of enthusiasm, we drove up the driveway of Kasteel Ter Poorte a few days later. A team of five people gave us a warm welcome. We were asked what we had already proven. And especially what we could mean for a firm like Van Havermaet. The spark was there. We immediately gained their trust. The result? To date, still the most high-profile rebranding we have brought into the world. With great thanks to Van Havermaet for believing in us 100% and challenging us 200% to take that extra step. And thanks Mats for the introduction.

6. NOBA – A gift from Sinterklaas (2016)
It was a rainy day in late November. We walked into the store in Bilzen, looking for Kim. Because she had invited us. “Just come to the back,” she shouted from a distance. We sat down at the table and listened with admiration to their current communication strategy and their extensive media plans. Their goal was to rejuvenate their image. Three agencies were invited to think about this question. On December 6, Sinterklaas, we went to present. The first time we were able to move the other side of the table to tears with a concept. From happiness and emotion, of course. Before we were even back in Hasselt, we already received a phone call to confirm the collaboration.

7. Comfort Energy – A national hero status (2018)
Everyone knows them. Those beautiful, large Comfort Energy tankers. In 2018, we were invited to the head office in Hasselt. Because there were too few drivers for those beautiful trucks. The result? A national campaign was dubbed ‘Heroes of the Road’. We convinced the client that they wouldn’t get those beautiful cabs filled just by launching a few job vacancies. So we were allowed to go all the way. From gadgets to their own magazine and online advertising. A true 360° campaign that had a lot of impact.
8. Marchetta – Let the bath fill up (2019)
Deeply hidden in beautiful Genk, we were welcomed in the showroom of Marchetta Villabouw/Thuisbest. Three friendly ladies put us through our paces. They were already doing well with marketing. So what extra could we mean for them? It became an inspiring conversation about ‘Liefde_Bedrijven’ (Loving_Companies) and ‘getting in the bath together’. A few days later, we received an email with the subject: ‘Let the bath fill up’. Never before have we been able to develop such a complete total solution for a client. We made Marchetta what they are: Family Builders. This case really shows what we can do as a marketing agency. A structural communication strategy that truly contributes to the growth of the company, ensures stronger brand awareness, and simultaneously supports short-term sales. A marketing plan with a proven ROI.

9. BEWEL – The 3rd largest employer (2019)
We sat down with BEWEL with a very specific question. “People don’t know everything we do and can do.” Admittedly, we had no idea either. After a short introduction, we enthusiastically headed into the studio. A few weeks later, we presented our vision for the communication strategy of the third largest employer in Limburg. The fact that the general manager took photos of the slides featuring ‘Liefde_Bedrijven’ turned out to be a good sign. We got the green light. And three years and one rebranding later, we can proudly call ourselves a strategic partner of this beautiful company.

10. IMMOWEB – The largest in Belgium (2021)
Immoweb, the largest real estate website in Belgium, was looking for reinforcement in the field of content marketing. It was a great honor that they traveled—albeit digitally—to fashionable Hasselt to get acquainted. After an initial introduction, we were invited to a competition with four other agencies. Both national and international. The first time we were going to compete across borders. And with success! We received kind words from the marketing department in Brussels, and Expliciet became—and still is—the new content partner for Immoweb. After writing blogs, we recently launched a national podcast series together. The first of this level in the construction sector.
